The Offline have announced a new project centered around reworks of beloved releases, one of them being SANITY’s version of "Un long été chaud."
The Offline is a modern version of TV and film music from the 60s and 70s with an analog feel, reminiscent of those old funk and jazz albums hip-hop artists used to sample. It's no surprise that SANITY's remix feels like we're listening to conscious hip hop from the late 90s and early 2000s, such as the Fugees and Lauryn Hill. Her flows are gripping, and we're acquainted with palpable emotion through her delivery - making the performance all the more memorable. I can't neglect to mention how the minimalist production creates the perfect space for her voice to command full attention in an elegant manner.
