Last week, Fyfe released his debut album Control and we've shared its latest exerpt Veins. It is now time to write a bit about it.

Control sounds pretty familiar to our ears. It is indeed - as Fyfe told us in his interview - half made of familiar tracks and half of new materials.

The album resembles Paul Dixon aKa Fyfe in many aspects. It starts off quiet shyly with a casual "Conversation" followed by the heartfelt "Holding On". "Solace" sheds its light in the dark atmosphere, and adds some stokes of colors.  Whereas "Polythene Love" draws the fresh moves of a duet. This upbeat track will remind you of your teenage dances and perhaps urge you to invite your crush to share the dancefloor with you.

With "For You", Control unveils the dedicated part of Fyfe, where the music is monumental and the vocals grows more and more passionate. "In Waves" sounds like a night out spend at the beach. It's downtempo and soothing, with a R'n'B touch - some influences deared to Fyfe. "Lies Pt II" is more hesitant, more introspective. I find it to be the most sincere track of the album. The arrangements are delightful and the choirs add depth to the apparent simplicity of the song.  "Keep it Together" echoes "Holding On"; this time the mood is more optimistic and as the cover art, it seems that Fyfe is looking straight ahead. It is followed by "Veins", a luminous track, that echoes the passion flowing into each of our veins.  This leads us to sunny "St Tropez" and "Control". Inspite of being the closing track, "Control" is full of energy and breaks with the general relaxed atmosphere.

The album forms a whole in its dealing with relationships. Its complex-yet-simple build reflect how human nature reacts in front of another individual. It encaptures every aspects of a fleeting feeling into binary beats and epic organic arrangements. Control tends to demonstrate the impossibility to effectively refrain human feeling.
