For this second day dedicated to Believe Recordings' #labelweek, I wanted to introduce you one special artist of their roster - Wax Tailor. Today, Wax Tailor releases his live double-CD/DVD Phonovisions Symphonic Orchestra in the USA - Europeans folks were lucky enough to purchase yesterday.
The release brings together 27 tracks from Wax Tailor's 4 albums of his 10-years career. Each track was rearranged to be performed along with a symphonic orchestra made of 35 musicians and a choir of 17 people. The live has been shoot on two days in Theater Sebastopol at Lille, France.
Jean-Christophe Le Saoût (the head behind the music project) not only tails wax, he also sculpts a cinematic music. For the occasion, he worked with realisator Pierre Jampy to build up a visual scenography responsive to music notes.
"Sometimes" is just a tiny preview compared to what you will find in Phonovisions Symphonic Orchestra! I have been really impressed by how the tracks have evolved with the orchestra, the video aspect and the packaging - it's actually a photo-booklet.
Wax Tailor has been currently performing this incredible project on a mini-tour, that steps by the USA. He will be at LA Bootleg Theater tonight, at San Franscisco Rickshaw Stop on November 5th and Seattle Nectar Lounge on November 6th.
Stay up to date.
