Today is a seriously beautiful day to find great new music. I am on an absolute high! I don't know if it's because of the calm post-work trip vibe or the start of summer, but I'm just feeling it.

Some songs are best experienced without trying to pin them down to a single genre, and Colonel Red's "Feel iT" remixed by one of my favourites, Tall Black Guy, is one of them. Floating somewhere between soul, jazz, broken beat, and hip-hop, it unfolds with an effortless elegance that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern. What I love about it is the fact that it is mostly characterized by emotion, and then everything else. It feels both groovy, calm, grand, and inspiring. Pick your poison, really.

The collaboration feels especially natural given the artists involved. UK vocalist and songwriter Colonel Red has spent decades shaping his own path through soul music, evolving from major-label beginnings into a fiercely independent artist known for blending poetic lyricism with rich, groove-driven production. On the other side, Tall Black Guy has earned a reputation as one of contemporary soul and hip-hop's most respected beatmakers, celebrated for his ability to fuse jazz, funk, and boom-bap influences into deeply human productions.

A match made in heaven.
