Cul de Sac

I clearly remember when I heard "Milky Windowed Neighbor" a year ago and thought - what a peculiar name.

Well, HOUNDTRACK knows how to deliver full-scale stories through his music and "Cul de Sac" is one fine example. And also his first release with Stereofox Records.

I always appreciate an unusual approach towards chill music and the way Scott blends catchy beats, magical synths, and natural sounds turns this into a melodic bass gem, with a pinch of nostalgia. He shares the story behind it:

When I started creating this song, it made me think of memories of my childhood playing around the street I grew up on. The street is a “cul de sac” which is a type of street with no outlet – just a little road with houses lining it and a circle at the end for cars to turn around in. My brother, friends, and I would skateboard, scooter, and ride bikes up and down the street. We had lemonade stands at the bottom of it and each year at Halloween hundreds of kids would come trick-or-treating. 

The song “Cul de Sac” is a reflection of those carefree moments.
