It's great to have Marie Dahlstrom fully back.
The London-based Danish singer & songwriter primarily focused on her two sons in the past few years, while also managing to bless us with her sophomore album A Good Life in 2023 and a collab LP All My Life with Braxton Cook last year.
In 2026, Marie Dahlstrom has been full-on in release mode, kicking off with the utterly warm "Frostbite" in February and "Alive" with rapper Jords in April. This week, she unveiled a new single, "1 Journey Away," and also announced her third studio album, MARIE.
Produced by Corey Fonville (of Butcher Brown) and with percussion from Cuban musician Eliel Lazo, "1 Journey Away" blends breezy vocals, Latin influences, sunny vibes, and yet another reminder of how eager we're for summer to come.
Dahlstrom's self-titled 11-track album MARIE is due on September 18th. It explores the "building of a grounded and meaningful life while existing between cities, cultures, and creative worlds." Written between London, Copenhagen, and Los Angeles, the record reflects on "family, distance, belonging and adulthood" - and you'll witness Dahlstrom's most expansive musicianship to date.
