As a fan of both modular synthesizers and jazz, I can’t help but admire the ability of Per Ebdrup, the producer behind modal PROJEKT, to combine them in such a coherent way. “Kasette” is a relaxing journey through synths, keys and mild upbeat percussion. It’s the result of the combination of machine programming and human spontaneity.

Modal PROJEKT combines the organic tones of ambient modular synthesis with guest musicians from the world of jazz and beyond who improvise free-flowing 'modal' solos (i.e. single key solos built on 'modes' - most famously explored in Miles Davis' Kind of Blue album) around subtle electronic sound beds and beats. In this track, the Danish producer is joined by the versatile and experienced keys player, singer, writer, performer and producer Bennett Holland. Together, they achieved an elegant and multi-layered jazztronica sound, which carries a relaxed and mood-setting atmosphere.
